It'll Be OK

I'm starting to freak out a little bit now that I've:
  • enrolled in and paid for my fashion design course;
  • sent a letter of resignation to my employer;
  • told everyone all about it.
I really hope it all works out. *deep breath*
I never thought I'd take advice from Brad Pitt (I mean, c'mon), but I love this bit from The Curious Case of Benjamin Button:
What I think is, it’s never too late, or in my case, too early, to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit. Start any time you want. Change or stay the same. There aren’t any rules. We can make the best or worst of it. … I hope you make the best. I hope you see things that startle you. Feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people who have a different point of view. I hope you challenge yourself. I hope you stumble and pick yourself up. I hope you live the life you wanted to, and if you haven’t, I hope you start all over again.
When I watched that scene, my heart skipped a beat. Those were the exact words of encouragement I needed. (Kudos to The Sassy Kathy and By Teresa Wu for the quote!)

  5. Wahoo! This is terrific news! Do we get to say 'we knew you when...?'

    the hardest part is that letter of resignation---I HATE writing those, even though it always means you're moving on to bigger and better things!

    and speaking of change...when do we get to see pics of your haircut. has it happened yet?

  8. wow. you just made Benjamin Button not such a bad movie after all, knowing that it meant something to someone I know. (I was in the Bill Simmons "Benjamin Snooze Button" camp).

    i thought that period of the movie just looked like an ad for Benetton or GAP or some brand like that.

    if all else fails, at least you can party it up with us =)

  16. That is so exciting, I'm happy for you! I'm sure if you continue to follow your heart and be inspired by quotes such as the one you posted, you can't go wrong. Or if you do, you'll be able to pick yourself up again and do it over :)It's true that too many times, the emphasis on succeeding at the first time, choosing the right job rightaway, or finding the one and only perfect love and sticking with him. We should all be allowed to change our minds.
