Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue

Check out these visually stimulating new images of floral arrangements by Robin Derrick, a photographer and creative director for British Vogue (my dream job!!).
Set against stark black backdrops, the meticulously composed portraits are a careful exercise in raw aesthetics and technical mastery, strikingly clear, hyper-real blow-ups that you almost want to touch. The post-production phase on each image took around 100 hours, and it shows. Up to 15 original transparencies were shot and then combined, in part, to elicit the sharpest elements for the final print.
The collection will be on display from 18 September-8 October 2008 at The Old Train Depot in London...but you can enjoy it from the comfort of your couch right here
