My model of the moment award goes to Chanel Iman. She’s so gorgeous and bubbly and sweet – plus, how prophetic is her name??? According to an interview with Teen Vogue:
I used to dress up as a model for Halloween, like every year. I would study all the magazines and practice all my poses and my walk.
Tyra would be so proud (in fact, Tyra Banks is cited as one of her modelling mentors.)
Hailing from Atlanta, GA, Chanel Iman made her debut at the tender age of 15 in the Fall/Winter 2006 Anna Sui, Derek Lam, Marc Jacobs, and Proenza Schouler shows in New York. Since then, she has become Phillip Lim’s muse and a runway darling to almost every other major fashion designer, and made appearances in Vogue, Teen Vogue, Italian Vogue, Korean Vogue (basically every Vogue out there) and in campaigns for DKNY, Gap and Ralph Lauren.
But she’s aiming even higher:
My goal is to be a household name, and when I do that, I want to help other girls become models, and maybe even launch a fashion line with my mom, like Beyoncé did with her mother. My mom has such a good eye and it's always been a dream of hers. I'd love to be able to do that for her.

chanel iman is absolutely gorgeous! i remember seeing her face in teen vogue forever & until a month or two ago, i don't think i could ever match a name to her face. she's bound to be destined for an amazing future!
ReplyDeleteSo true! I think lots of designers love her because she lets the clothes speak for themselves but she also puts her own distinctive stamp on them.
